We have just launched a new web site especially for Le Pigeonnier - please take a look and let us know what you think - http://www.pigeonnier.herouville.biz/

Round and quirky Le Pigeonnier (dated 1732) was the Manoir dove cot, it is the tower like building to the left of the Manoir House. Separated from the main house by the gravelled courtyard it has the benefit of being totally private whilst still being close enough to take breakfast in the Manoir dining room if desired.

The exposed roof timbers and heavy oak beams dominate the mezanine twin bedroom which is large enough to accommodate a third bed, carpeted and furnished with antique French furniture the window gives a wonderful view across the pond to the fields and lake beyond.

The middle floor bedroom is furnished with an antique brass and iron double bed, originally destined to become part of a Yorkshire farm fence, the bed was rescued and renovated and is now the perfect foil to the ultra modern shower room. Stripped floor and Persian rug, antique washstand and modern chest of drawers and wardrobe complete the furnishings of the master bedroom of the Pigionnier.

The ground floor has direct access to the lavender bordered path has a bijou kitchen. The Kitchen is furnished with the following equipment: fridge, full sized electric cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, crockery, tableware, cooking utensils, glassware, and cutlery.. Perfect for families with small children the kitchen enables guests to cook evening meals for their children at their own convenience and to fit in with the routines and rhythm of their own family life. A dining table for four and a seating area with small television and film library depicting the martial history of the area make this little cottage comfortable and self contained. Chosen by popular request by previous guests the DVD library contains films such as ‘Band of Brothers’, ‘The Longest Day’, ‘A Bridge too Far’ and ‘Saving Private Ryan’, further films are available from the Manoir.

As is usual at Le Manoir there are books in the rooms. The choice is yours - historical, informative or just for fun.

Le Pigionnier is non smoking throughout.
